anthonyAnthony is working on a documentary film called ‘Nude Britannia’ and the poetry/photo book ‘Tales from the Nymph Garden’ which will be naturist related side projects.

If you want to know more about Anthony, you can stalk him on Twitter and Facebook. 😉

Ted Bun

TedBorn in 1956, Ted discovered naturism in 2004, during a trip to the island of Menorca. After some travelling he discovered the South of France. With his wife he moved there to open a welcoming home for naturist visitors (it’s called L’Olivette) and in the quiet season he discovered he was coming up with stories. Since then he’s been writing, and welcoming naturists from around the world to their home. It’s quite a change from his previous job, being engaged in IT projects, but they have decided that this is what they really want to do. And who could blame them? Ted’s work consists of police/detective stories with – of course – a naturist twist. You can find his work in the naturist’s library.

Free the body. Free the nipple.

Free the nipple, or Topless in New York.

You have probably all heard of “Free the nipple”, a movement that tries to make being topless in public a common reality for women. They are doing great work, but they are not the only ones active in this area of body freedom. On Twitter there’s a feed called “Topless New York“. This Twitter feed is also very active in promoting body freedom for women, and the focus here – you may have guessed it – is New York.

Coffee out in the open. What can be better?

Why New York?

An obvious question probably. If you live in New York you probably won’t focus on Miami, right?

Art-watching in New York. Because the weather’s nice.

New York is one of the (too few) cities in the United States where it’s perfectly legal for women to go around topless. Somehow this liberating fact isn’t know very widely because it’s barely ever you can spot a lady who frees her nipples.

Topless New York is the Twitter feed of a photographer who takes pictures of topless women in New York. Of course with permission of the ladies in question. It is a work in progress to make the world aware of this legal possibility. If you are a lady who’s proud of her body and you want the world to know, get in touch with “Topless New York” and see what can be done.

Patreon

Topless New York has recently started a Patreon page to fund the work he does.

If you think this is a worthy cause then please drop by the Patreon page and pledge a dollar or two per month. Or three.

It will help body equality for women.

A book review

Here’s a book review. I don’t only write them, I also read them.

Who is this naked lady – and what have they done with my wife?

who is this naked lady

This is the first book by Wallace M. Greensage. I enjoyed reading it. It’s not the genre I write (no fantasy, no scifi) but a real life, modern day story that could happen for real. We meet a couple who are strangers to nudism and who are on their vacation on a fictional island. The island is described very well – it made me want to move there and spend all my days at Barcelona Beach. As you might expect there’s some nudism involved in the story, and also mention of naked people like us and the things we don’t do (contrary to what textile lovers suspect us to do).

The story has a nice twist that has to do with a rather nasty man and his companions who make the vacation of the couple less fun than they had expected. Does it end well? I’ll leave that open so you can enjoy the story yourself.

starMy rating for this book: 4 stars out of 5.

You can find the e-book on Amazon and of course Amazon.co.uk.

Flu and the crazy ideas it gives me

Flu. It’s not funny.

A few weeks ago I was in the dumps because of our friend the flu. Felt horrible, awful, and didn’t get up for 5 days.

Of course I need to add here that I did not get a flu shot. I only got those twice and each time I got violently ill. Blaming the shots for that was a bad idea apparently, because this time I got seriously ill with the vicinity of a shot.

Crazy ideas.

Apparently my brain was in turmoil for a while during those first 5 days of badness. At some point – I don’t exactly recall when but that doesn’t matter – I almost woke up from an avalanche of images that had been churning through my head and that sort of gave me an idea for a new naturist story. I grabbed my notepad (always have one next to the bed) and scribbled down what I could remember of the idea. Then I collapsed into the void of the flu once again.

crazy ideas

Historical fiction.

So far the books I wrote and am writing are in the fantasy and science fiction realm. I love those two genres and I think I can do them pretty well.

historical fiction

This new idea is in the Historical Fiction genre. For those who aren’t aware of what that it, historical fiction describes things from history (obviously). Usually it involves well known places or people. Think for instance of books about King Arthur, Jeanne d’Arc, a war, or perhaps even the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The story doesn’t have to deal with that actual event but the event can take place during the course of the story. It’s that easy to write historical fiction, but it also makes it difficult because you have to get the facts right. Anyone can believe a bug-eyed, yellow monster coming from Pluto to devour our clothes, but for instance claiming that Marilyn Monroe always appeared naked on the set of her films… most people know that’s not true.

The story in my head

The naked veil
The naked veil

The story I came up with in my flu-ridden dream doesn’t deal with any of those subjects. So far it doesn’t feel like a difficult or complicated story, more something light and easy; something short.

I am definitely going to develop that idea  and see where it leads me (and you). So far the future of the story is still in veils, as is the naked lady on the right. She’s from the right era of my story, I think, so for a while I’ll keep her as the mascot for the new book.

I’ve never thought that I would ever find a way to write something in the historical fiction genre concerning nudism/naturism. No matter how this story will end up, I’m thrilled that something actually appeared for it.

The writerI hope you’re having a great day. I’ll be writing.

Naked.

Paul.

Naked Dreamers – No to body shaming

I am going to promote a group of people from Norway here. Why? Because they are going to make a film about body positivity. Anyone who is in any way active about that deserves my – and your – support!

HAVE YOU HAD IT WITH BODY SHAMING? ARE YOU UNDER 25? GIRL OR GUY. ARE YOU UP FOR BEING PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM?

If so, then go to http://bodyshaming.no/

Shoot a short video (e.g. with your mobile phone) or send us a few words where you present yourself and tell us about your relationship with your body.

Is it important to you how others see you? How do you deal with being naked? How are you affected by all these things, and do you want to change how you feel in relation to this?

Remember, we also need: your full name, email address, mobile phone number, date of birth – and attach a photo of yourself.

Send the email to film@bodyshaming.no
Use wetransfer.com or similar if you attach a video.
More information: http://bodyshaming.no/

If you want to see and hear Dalchows Verden, the person who wants to make this film, go to their facebook page and look at the video he made and where he addresses you.

Naked is healthier and here is why.

Most textile-oriented people won’t agree with this statement but naked is healthier. I feel like living proof and I let me tell you why. First have a look at this picture:

Body

…do you see something odd? If not, look again. (If you have to look again you’re still learning to be a naturist as you probably only saw a penis.) I saw it immediately as soon as it appeared. There’s a bump on the right side. It’s an inguinal hernia, also known as groin rupture. People who are comfortable with seeing and knowing their own naked body will notice and acknowledge such strange occurrences much sooner than clothes people. I am convinced of that.

Doesn’t mean that I’m happy that I see it because this probably means surgery (be it minor surgery according to the doctor) and I haven’t been in a hospital since almost 40 years.

Something clothes addicts will never experience

We have an advantage over dressed people who are addicted to their coverings. Perhaps some would even call it a blessing. We know what it is to feel free. And that means really free. Many naturists talk about freedom, liberation, being unhindered, and that is what we are. We savour the freedom from restraints like clothes and such as much as possible.

naked freedom

The longer I’m a naturist, the more I understand how free we are. When I get home I take my clothes off. Clothes that have been on me all day while I did things I would rather not do. After all, work is a hobby that pays the bill but it does eat up an awful amount of time.

The joy of being naked is the feeling that so many have never experienced. It’s mind-boggling when you think of it. How did this happen? Why is being naked so bad in the eyes of the majority of people? As I said before, people are shocked more by the sight of a naked person than by the sight of a gun. Or violence. Or injustice. Naked people aren’t dangerous. Sorry if I bring in something horrible but look at suicide bombers who wear those belts with explosives. Beneath their clothes. A suicide bombing nudist wouldn’t go unnoticed in a crowded market place. And then I mean a market place crowded with other nudists. (Can you imagine how I would love to wander around in such a market place?)

Naked people are the most relaxed people that I know, and often also the kindest. Because they don’t need to hide and don’t want to hide. Because, indeed, they are free.

making the bedThe awareness that nothing like clothes is holding me back when I walk through my apartment often hits me like a brick wrapped in velvet. Hard but also very pleasant. I can do this. I am not afraid of my own nudity. Every real nudist or naturist feels secure in her or his nakedness. Because of that freedom. I am strongly convinced that such freedom isn’t only physical. It has its effect on one’s mind as well. Mental freedom. Now there’s something to be proud of. So many people long for that…

Bank robbery

This might surprise you. Bank robbery on a nudist blog? But yes, that is where my mind took me.

bankrobber

We all know this view from TV or so:

your typical bank robber in a mask, waving a gun and demanding money while wearing nondescript clothing.

And that, my dear, naked visitors, is the point. Nondescript clothing.

What would happen if a bank robber would enter a bank, hide behind a big plant or something else convenient, and strip naked apart from a mask? (Faces, after all, are a great way to recognise people.) In today’s society I think that people would be more shocked to see a naked body than all the guns. And when the police come along and ask ‘What was he wearing?’, they might not get beyond ‘he was naked’. And that while we all know that there is so much you can tell from a body – if you’re not afraid to look at it!

bankrobber 2

What is your opinion about this? Would naked bank robbers have more elements of surprise? Would they stand a chance these days?

The disadvantage of nude exercising

I thought that would get your attention. Yes, there is a disadvantage of nude exercising. You feel it the moment you go to the gym. No nude exercising there…

Gym. Dressed. Sweaty. Smelly.
Knee lifts
Naked knee-lifts.

I have taken up doing naked morning exercises since a while. A month at least. Every morning I do a number of exercises which usually take 5 to 6 minutes.

They feel good, they make that I feel good through the day. Yes, only 5 minutes a day. But once a week I try to go to a proper gym where I want to work out for an hour or more. And that’s where the pain begins. Stuff on my body which at least 6 mornings a week isn’t there.

Sit-ups
Naked sit-ups

Not only is the stuff I  wear there quickly too warm and wet (which in turn makes it smelly), it’s also restrictive. Sports clothes up, down, left or right, they’re clothes, and clothes are by default limiting movement.

Push-ups
Naked push-ups

Doing exercises naked is much better and feels better. Nothing pulls and yanks, nothing hinders you in any way.

For that I’m glad I can do this mini-workout every morning. Naked. With nothing bugging me.

A naked gym in the area for those who want that. Wouldn’t that be nice?

The squeeze

Clothes give you the squeeze. They really do, and nudists/naturists know that. Unless you walk around in a kind of tent that people will think is improper stuff (well, that’s their problem, but still), and nudists don’t want that. Even clothes that seem to fit quite well when you’re standing will cut off some part of your body/circulation when you sit or kneel down.

clothes too tightFor those who are clothes addicts that might not be a problem (after all, people can get used to all forms of BDSM) but each time I have to move around in clothes it’s clear: these things are not comfortable. And the more I notice, the more I’m convinced that these fabric inventions are good against the cold (I’ll be the last one to disagree on that) but why people insist on wearing them when it’s warm enough to go without… In the woods…then I’ll take naked.
