Jinn

Yes. It happened.

Today the new Naked Crow book, Jinn, sees the virtual light of day in your favourite e-book space.

Naked Crow 11 - Jinn

Lizzy, an almost forgotten friend of Sheila and Jeremy, gets in touch with a cry for help.

She, with her group of friends, managed to summon a Jinn and now they’re in a fix. The Jinn doesn’t want to go home and causes problems. Sheila’s reputation speaks for itself, and so she is Lizzy’s last resort.

We also encounter a dangerous man at the Mighty Oaks. He’s not dangerous to others, though, but to himself.

As usual, there’s a lot going on and there are many questions to be answered. And not only by that Jinn.

The book is already available at

Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes&Noble , Apple books, Kobo and the Google Playstore

As you will know by now, the paperback drags its pages and will appear when it’s done.

Naked Crow International

Over at MeWe, someone suggested to have the Naked Crow books translated into German.

Naked Crow Cover - Fantasy
Naked Crow 1

Germany is a big country with lots of naturists, so there should be quite a market.

I had a look at translation services. Right, that was out of the window quite soon. Having one book professionally translated would cost between €5000 and €12000.

Making that worth the while, I’d have to sell between 8000 and 15000 copies of the translated book. (Worth the while as in breaking even.) Seeing how many copies of Naked Crow 1 have been sold in English, which is an even larger market, it’s unlikely that route will happen.

I can handle some German, so I started translating it myself. That taught me that writing a story in German is quite something else. Translating from English into German, while not being a native speaker of either language, is hard work. I plowed through almost 2 pages and asked a good German friend to see how good or bad it was.

She made 98 changes. In almost 2 pages. Naked Crow 1 is much longer than 2 pages.

Sorry, dear German readers. It’s not going to happen anytime soon.

A naked crow is a strange bird

Yes. There is some news about our Naked Crow. About the ninth one, to be precise. Let me show you…

Naked Crow 9 - Canadian Crow
Crow

The only thing I would like to add to this information, which is pretty sparse, I admit, is that you should be on the lookout soon. You might spot this one as of June 13th. That’s when I plan to let it fly.

This story has been in the making for a while, but with No More Unsworth Manor Nudes and a few other bits and surprises coming up, that was to be expected!

So note it down, all you ornithologists. June 13th. Of this year.

Naked Crow 8. It’s going to come.

Naked Crow 8 - Giant Problems

Yes. This is it. The cover for the eighth book in the Naked Crow series.

Goodness, I still remember the moment when I started writing part 1. I was visiting Gran Hotel Natura on Fuerteventura (which unfortunately closed its naturist doors) and I was reading a naturist fantasy story that was soo poorly written that I thought: I can do better than that.

The enthusiasm that Naked Crow met was actually a surprise for me but also a motivation to keep going. And now part 8 is seeing the light of day.

The e-book will be available on August 10th, on an e-store shelf near you.

Let me tell you what this book is about…

A naturist resort as a place for resident artists. Can you imagine that? Yes, it will happen at the Mighty Oaks. Remarkable artists will stay there for a while, diving into their art – and strange adventures.

Of course, Sheila and Jeremy are part of those adventures.

Slowly, bits and pieces of the history of Mighty Oaks are revealed, as well as a secret the managers of the resort managed to keep for quite a while.

All of this and more will present giant problems for the resident shaman.

Are you ready to face them together with her?

I hope this is enough to fire up your interest for this new book!

Nothing for a long time, and then…

Emma Nelson 1 - See-Through
See-Through – Emma Nelson 1

It feels like last week that I published this book.

What?

Oh. It was last week. Hmm. Thank you for letting me know. So it was last week that I published this book. At the moment of writing this post I have not had any bad reactions yet (I am writing this soon after publication so I am able to say this with an honest face), so hopefully the readers are entertained by Emma Nelson’s first adventure.

As the title of this post says: nothing for a long time… (meaning there were no new books for a considerable amount of pendulum swings…) and then… I have the pleasure to announce that the next Naked Crow book, volume 8 in the series, is ‘en route’ for publication.

My friend Will Forest picked the nits out of the text and had valuable feedback on the story, all of which is now all applied.

Yes, dear readers and followers of this blog, Naked Crow 8 will come out ‘soon’. That is probably next month because having the text in shape is not all there is to it.

Let me treat you to a sneak preview of the cover for Naked Crow 8.

Yes, the title is worth the trouble Sheila and her friends get into. They are for real Giant Problems.

Another sneak ‘preview’ is what this book is about. There are young artists of Native American descent, a few mentors and you also get a peek into Alice Branson’s former life when she was married. That ‘heritage’ combined by a rather gruesome find at the Mighty Oaks, makes Sheila’s recipe for Giant Problems. A good thing about this size of problems is that they won’t fit under your bed, so you can go to sleep safely tonight. I hope.

Happy reading, everyone, and be naked as long and often as you can.

Paul

More on Emma Nelson and Naked Crow 8

Yes, there is something happening.

Wordy grandmaster Will Forest has gone through all the texts and pointed out the things that weren’t clear, looked off, were inexplicable and more of such beauty.

The story of Emma Nelson should go online this week (at least the e-books). I am still fussing with the cover for that but here is a sneak peek:

That being said, it might end up entirely different. Sneak peeks can make that happen. 😉

Naked Crow 8 is taking shape as well. I’m working through that still, as well as the cover which needs a lot of work. That’s the reason I’m not sharing a preview here: so far there is not much to see.

Since it is a very warm day today, I will cut this post short. Sorry, everyone who had perhaps expected more. There will be more – but not now!

Works in progress

Yes, dear reader,

A new post by P.Z. Walker, and not on PZWalker.com this time. I hope you can forgive me because this is the new ‘home’ for my writing posts.

It’s been a while since the latest Naked Crow book came out. Don’t give up on me: I’m working on book 8, which has given me considerable problems.

The first write got me quite far when I noticed it was going the wrong way so I discarded everything apart from perhaps the first few hundred words. That means a lot of new story and new words, which eats up time. This time however the story is on the right track and it’s also ‘making tracks’. I’ve been able to add quite a lot to it, now the direction is clear. I had to write a complete backstory on someone who isn’t even in this story, just to get and keep the facts straight. It’s the first time I had to do this but I found it helps a lot.

Okay, I mentioned ‘works’ in progress. Unsworth part 3 is slowly coming along. That’s a good thing. My friend, Will Forest, is going over another story I wrote. An urban fantasy in a whole other setting than usual.

There is also book two of Murphys In Space which I am working on, but with the Naked Crow story under steam, that will have to be patient. And there is the Crazy Pictures story I’m developing. That too suffers from Naked Crow-iness. All in due time though.

Bookish update

Hi there.

With July on the way out which means that most of 2016 is already behind us, I thought I’d give you a little update on what’s going on here book-wise.

Mirror Earth 2

Mirror EarthThe end of that book is in sight. I’m working on getting the last chapter in order and shape, which should not take too long now. After that I will let the entire book cool off a while and start reworking it to get the worst blunders out of it.

It’s become a good story I think, but in the end I’m not the one to say so. That’s up to you, the readers. I do what I can, you do what you can, and so we make a good team

Please don’t expect this book to hit the shelves in a month or so, reworking and editing takes time and attention. I just wanted to give you this good news. 🙂

Naked Crow

I’m thinking about part 6. I have a basic idea for it, but there has to be more than just that. If you have ideas about naturist issues, problems or bits of interest you would like to see in book 6 please let me know. I can’t promise it will be used but it is a great asset for me to know what you would like to read about.

NakedCrow5_320

Historical naturist fiction

Vintage nudistsIt’s still in view but so much has been going on these days (like publishing Naked Crow 5) that this story has moved to the background a little. I hope I will have some time to return to this story soon. It’s coming along quite well but there is some research on history I need to do. Everything in this story has to be correct and make some kind of sense, as opposed to real life. 😉

Be happy, well, and naked, as much as you can!

Naked Crow 5 is out there!

It happened. Book 5 in the Naked Crow series has appeared. I had never thought there would be 5 books. Maybe even 6 but I have yet to start on that.
