SYSK – Nude beaches

I found this one from “Stuff you should know” very interesting. This is the video version of their podcast.

If you want to listen to it without watching, you can find the mp3 available for listening or downloading at https://www.stuffyoushouldknow.com/podcasts/nude-beaches.htm

I find that these two people approach the subject in a decent manner (forgive them their usual banter, it’s in jest). You may benefit from it; they hand some things to explain nudism to your unenlightened friends!

A naturist’s view on vineyards

Yes, this might surprise you. I happened to find this article though and thought you’d like it too!

Naturists harvest French vineyard grapes entirely nude

The group picked grapes entirely naked, apart from shoes and plastic ponchos against the rain

A group of naturist friends from Puy-de-Dôme has harvested wine grapes entirely in the nude.

Taking advantage of the warm end-of-September weather – despite some rain – the seven men and one woman took to the vines entirely naked, to pick grapes on a small parcel of vineyard in the commune of Crest.

The group made use of a local by-law that allowed them to harvest for a set amount of time, and in a clearly-defined area of the vineyard. The remoteness of the land ensured they were unlikely to be seen by members of the public.

Some concessions to the weather and environment were made: the group wore shoes to protect their feet against the hard and muddy ground, and some made use of transparent plastic ponchos to ward off the rain. Apart from this, they were all entirely naked.

The experience allowed them to get closer to nature, they explained to local news source France 3, and have vowed to return next year.

“We have wanted to harvest this way for a long time,” explained Thierry Guillot, one of the group. “We chose a vineyard that we know and like. Naturism is a mindset. We are very close to nature, and being able to move without fabric; without a polluting barrier, is such a pleasure.”

He continued: “Naturism is about tolerance. We never judge each other; it’s one big family. When you have tasted [what naturism is like], you cannot go back to fabric.”

A nudist’s view on laundry

Laundry.

Yep. laundrtLaundry. We all know it. Even nudists know it.

This was a surprise to one of my coworkers, a few days ago. In a fun talk about vacation, said coworker complained about the loads of laundry that had to be done afterwards. I felt good about saying that I didn’t really have too much work with that. Of course, there are shorts and shirts and the odd bit of underwear, but nakations (a concept I had to clarify a bit 🙂 ) mainly get you a bunch of towels that need to be washed.

Towels. A bare (person’s) necessity.

My coworker was quite surprised about that. “If you walk around naked all day, why do you need towels?”

Well, for instance at a pool or the seaside, to dry off if there’s a chilling wind. And… yes. To sit on. Also on chairs. This to needed elaboration so I enlightened her about the fact that when you’re naked, your bodily saps won’t cling to clothes (unless you sit on a dressed person 😉 ).

So you use a towel on a chair. It didn’t take much more to convince her about that need.

It’s always nice to talk with someone who’s open-minded about such things. Many folks will never understand the joy of naked freedom. My coworker said to never try naturism or nudism but told me it was interesting to hear about such things.

Have you ever been able to talk about your lifestyle freely at work? Let me know. Or let me know about the weird things you’ve heard about it. It’s time for a laugh, folks!

Winter is coming. When the weather goes bad.

Winter is coming.

Nude Swim

Contrary to our fellow nude people in the Southern Hemisphere where Summer’s now unfolding, up here towards the north the weather’s becoming the disappointment of most nudists and naturists. Winter isn’t here yet but at times it feels that way where I live.

Rain, fog, cold temperatures, all those are items that only nude ones with semi polar bear qualities will be able to face in the buff.

Alternatives to the outside.

As much as naturists like to be nude outside, there are good reasons not to go there that way. Unless, as I said, you’re one of the genetically manipulated polar bears (or penguins, take your pick).

I’ve talked about this before. Still it’s good to remind you.

Not everyone’s so lucky to have such places nearby but a great way to enjoy the naked life is to participate in nude swims. And yes, even if you’re not such a good swimmer. Go there, take off your stuff and relax. Sit in the water, or even learn how to become a better swimmer. It’s healthy too!

Many places around, at least over here, have saunas were you can be naked. Yes, they are doing more and more dressed days but still there are plenty of options available for that.

Do you know other things to do nude in the winter? (Yeah, showering and bathing, I heard you! 😀 )

A naturist area in Paris

Paris goes naked.

Bois de VincennesYes, we’ve all heard of it by now. Paris has a naturist area in one of the parks. At the Bois de Vincennes, to be precise. It happened on August 30th of this year. Now don’t get your French knickers in a knot. This isn’t a permanent place yet.

So far it’s meant to be an experiment which will last until October of this year, as laid out in this article.

Signs of something good. And safety.

As found on Facebook:

Paris, 30 August 2017 (AFP) – a “space for les” opens from Thursday and until 15 October in the bois de Vincennes (15th arrondissement), learned on Wednesday the AFP from sources sources .
“the provision of a space in the bois de Vincennes where the practice of naturisme is allowed to participate in an open vision of the use of parisian public spaces”, explains Penelope Komites, Deputy to the green spaces of the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.
Space, which is intended to be an experiment, will be open from Thursday at the beginning of the afternoon, and then every day from 08 am to 19 pm until 15 October.
Framed by signs, the space of 7.300 m² will be located near the ornithological reserve of the bois de Vincennes, within the clearing between the royal driveway and the dauphine road.
The nudity and tranquillity of the users of space and des will have to be respected, no attitude or attitude will be tolerated… “a charter will be displayed around space for walkers and joggeurs to be warned”, Assures Julien Claude-Pénégry, responsible for the development of urban spaces within the association of naturistes de Paris (Anp).

Good steps.

I think it’s a good move on behalf of the French. Nudism flourishes in France; lots of people escape there for their naked fix, so it makes sense. And no, Paris isn’t the first town to have a (temporary for now) relaxed attitude towards nudists and naturists. München, Germany, has several of such places already and those are not temporary.

I’d really appreciate more towns all around the world to make this possible for our lifestyle. Maybe, now Paris has come around a little (I first want to see that this park remains open for naturism permanently), there’s good hope that more places will follow. I’m sure I am not alone in this hope!

Do naturists have secrets?

Secrets

A while ago I was listening to a podcast. I sometimes do that because podcasts can be cool. The podcast in question was about secrets and how secrets affect people. It’s uncanny and fascinating to learn how much of a burden a secret can be for a person.

Stuff to blow your mind

That is where I found this podcast.

Nudity

So what does this podcast have to do with naturism, nudism and all other kinds of recreational nudity?

Believe it or not, but the podcast mentions nudists and the possibility that they are feeling better about themselves when they don’t keep their naturist/nudist lifestyle a secret from other people. Which makes sense. If you don’t need to hide your lifestyle, there’s no need to be ‘careful’ about it. This means no burden of a secret, which in turn means an easier, more care-free life.

Do you agree, or…?

Do you agree with this statement? Do you feel happy with your lifestyle because people around you, also the perpetually clothed, know about your nudism? And if you don’t feel safe to tell everyone about it, how does that make you feel? I’m very curious…

Clothes. I wear them. A lot lately.

Clothes. Really. I wear them.

Naked woman in the rainIf you want to stop reading now, do so.

The rest of this article might shock you if you’re a hard core naturist that never wears clothes. (And if you manage to do that, do let me know how you pull that off!)

Weather of late has been quite sad. Rain, drizzle, unpleasant temperatures.

Not the summer most of us dream of unless you’re a needy plant. In which case you’re always naked.

So what to do when the weather’s not nice?

There are a few smart options.

  1. Go on vacation to a warm place where you can be naked all the time.
Nice plan if you have the time and the money for it. I’m sure at least 12% of the people reading this recognise that one. 😉
  2. Turn up the heating of the house and be naked.
Would work, but I don’t do that. I try to be environmentally conscious and not doing the heat up thing has a place in that mindset.
  3. Put on some clothes.
Shocking, I admit, but it’s a tactic people have used for centuries. One that works.
  4. Move to a place where it’s warm all the time.
    Now that’s smart!

But… but… you’re a naturist!

In the woodsTrue. I see myself as a naturist but one that’s not made of penguin or polar bear.

I’m a human who doesn’t like the cold. Interestingly I’ve gotten more cold-sensitive over the last few years; I’m sure that age has to do something with it. I’m approaching 60. Are there any people in their second youth who have noticed something similar?

Anyway, this is how I deal with poor weather conditions. At first I wasn’t showing the real naturist but then something made me grin. There are those naturists who claim that a true naturist doesn’t have tan lines. Well, trust me – I don’t have any!

Things will get better. Sooner or later.

It is only a matter of time for things to get better again. Either on a vacation, a summery end dash or something I can’t even imagine now. If nothing else happens there’s always the shower or the sauna.

This is how I handle piss poor weather. If you have other ways, perhaps even better ways, I’d love to hear them. We’re all in this weather together so we can learn from each other.

Stay happy, stay as naked as you can.
