Naked around the house.

I’m curious how many naturists and nudists (let’s assume there is a difference between them) are able to be naked in and around their house.

The problem that many face of course is that their house is open to the view from the street. As far as I know there is no country where the law says you can be naked inside your own property, regardless if people from outside can see you or not.

Backyards.

Nudists with fenced-off backyards often are in luck. They can usually be naked as much as they want and do all kinds of chores there without the bother of clothes. Things like painting, like the lady on the left does here, will be easier too. Splatters of paint are removed from skin much easier than from clothes.

There might be a problem with neighbours though. Not everyone can lift their mind over such things as a naked body.

Apartments.

This is where I come in. Literally, because I live in an apartment.

My place is on the fifth floor , there are frosted glass panels between the balconies so neighbours don’t see me, and there is no building opposite where I live. I can be naked as much as I want, and sit outside like that whenever the weather allows.

I’m lucky like that.

Okay. Nudists who live in such houses have a big disadvantage if they don’t have glass curtains or something like it. You’ll be seen from the street, and if you have a garden you’ll be seen by the neighbours. Do you have a house like this? How do you deal with it?

A while ago I posted about my neighbour who found out I’m a nudist and that I like to go around naked in my own house. He does not want his daughter and her kids to see me naked. Last week I was changing the bedding. I was naked. It had been very hot (93F) the day before, and the night hadn’t been cool either so I had opened the window and the curtains to air the place. Then I heard kids. I turned and saw two children I had seen before. At the local nude beach. They’re brother and sister, 8 and 10 I think.

I know them and their parents. The kids recognised me and said they were visiting their grandparents next door with their mother, and they were playing outside on the gallery. Their grandma had told them about my cats (they sit looking out the bedroom window quite often) and the kids asked if they could play with them.

I said that was fine if their mother had no problems with that. They went to ask and mom was fine with it. I was already grinning, because clearly this lady’s parents didn’t know she was a regular at our local nude beach.

The kids came in and asked (!) if they could take off their clothes as well, “because we do that at home too”. Of course, go ahead, but I told them to be careful with the cats; their claws are sharp. The kids had a good time with the cats, I finished the bed and then their mother called at the door. She came in and we had a nice talk. She seems a bit stressed about her parents and them being opposed to anything showing skin more than a finger or a nose. They had told her (actually warned her) about me. She thanked me for allowing the kids be the way they liked to be and then they left.

This encounter still has me laughing. I’ll probably run into the family again at the nude beach and I am not sure if I can keep back my laughter when I see my neighbours again.

What’s a home nudist?

A lot of people are nude around their own house but don’t consider themselves to be “nudists”. Typically it is because they misunderstand what the term means.

Some people believe what the porn and conservative religious groups define nudism as — lust-filled, hedonistic voyeurs and exhibitionists that engage in orgies and all kinds of public sex. That’s just a flat out lie so the porn industry can make money and religious groups can maintain control.

Nudists are simply more comfortable nude. They don’t see the nude human body as inherently sexual or lewd. Sometimes they are comfortable nude around others (social nudists), but sometimes they prefer to be nude alone or with their family at home (home nudists).

What are you? Are you comfortable being nude around your own home? Then you are a home nudist. Are you comfortable nude around others? Then you are a social nudist!

If you are a home nudist but haven’t given social nudism a try, you should. There are many people like you out here who are looking for wholesome, family-friendly nude recreation with others like yourself!

Feeling like a full-time home nudist.

At the moment I’m between assignments. As the weather isn’t good enough to head out to the nude beach (the wind is too cold and someone stole our sun), I spend a fair amount of time at home and therefore clothes-free. It’s great. In the past 2.5 days I had to slip into a bathrobe once for a caller at the door, and into shorts and a shirt for someone who delivered a package. Both events took 10 dressed minutes at best, probably closer to 5.

The box that was delivered contained something I had to assemble. If you never did that, assemble something while in the nude. You’ll be amazed how much easier it is to kneel and move around when you’re not restricted by clothes. It’s so much better.

Are you a nudist?

A lot of people are nude around their own house but don’t consider themselves to be “nudists”. Typically it is because they misunderstand what the term means.

What are you? Are you comfortable being nude around your own home? Then you are a home nudist. Are you comfortable nude around others? Then you are a social nudist!

Make a resolution to try nudism in 2013. If you don’t, you might look back later and regret not taking a chance!

Nude around the house

Do you sometimes walk around in your house whilst not wearing anything? Going around naked as on the moment you were born?

If so, you might be surprised to hear that you’re not allowed to just like that. If you walk by a window in your naked glory and someone from the street looks inside and sees you, that person can file a complaint against you for indecent exposure. Even when you’re in your own house! It doesn’t mean you’ll get arrested and thrown in jail, but there’s a good chance you get a warning from the police.

Now I have to add that I am not sure if this is true everywhere, but there are many places and countries where this is a fact. When you want to sit in your garden and feel the sunshine on all of your skin, you need to make sure that none of your neighbours can see you that way for the same reason. And don’t think that a good fence will be enough: if someone can see you from their upstairs rooms you’re at fault too.

Isn’t that dumb? No matter how liberated the world at large wants to feel, we’re constricted in our freedom by a morality forced upon us by a bunch of people who feel that nakedness is not a natural state of being. The more because it is a natural state of being. I have yet to hear about a baby being born with a diaper on…
