How people react…

…when seeing a nude person.

As I wrote in a previous post, I’ve been exploring routes where I can walk naked. At least partially. Getting there requires being dressed, but the more nude walking time I can get, the better.

Over the last week I ran into a few people. Three, to be precise, and it struck me how different they can react. Don’t get me wrong; none of them made a fuss or had negative comments, but still, their reactions were quite different.

One morning, on a Sunday, I walked along the river. A great spot where I can go nude for 2km.

Along the river

On the way back, I met a lady who was walking her dog. She simply kept walking towards me, said ‘good morning’, and walked on. Seriously, that was the best one of the three.

The second meeting was on a Tuesday morning, quite early, in a spot closer to home. (The river is about 1.6 km / 1 mile walking before I get there.) The trail is something like this:

Fog over the path

Yes, it’s a great spot to walk, lots of trees and narrow tracks to follow, it’s never boring. Near the spot where I had to get dressed again, some 400 metres away, there was a lady walking two dogs. One of the dogs came yapping at me, I yapped back at it and it seemed to like that. The lady yelled at that dog (the other was on a leash) and she stepped to the side, turning her back at me while I passed her. I wished her a good morning, she didn’t reply. Again, no big fuss, but such a difference…

The third encounter was also of the dog kind.

Me on a walk. More fog, indeed.

I was getting closer to the last patch of ‘forest’ when a lady with, again, a dog, emerged from the spot where I had to go for the trail back home. She saw me, made a wide circle around me, keeping her dog close. She wished me a good morning as I said that to her, but she kept a large distance.

Perhaps she was scared that the dog would do something? I don’t know.

Three encounters in one week. All not ‘upset’ (okay, perhaps the second lady was a bit). I think that’s good.

Naked and that almost temperature.

The almost safe temperature

temperature

Today, for me, is one of those almost okay to be nude outside days. It’s almost nice, not very rainy. Unfortunately it’s not just right. There is a bit too much wind, and I think it’s coming from the wrong side. Out of the wind it’s pretty good, but once the wind hits, the wind chill factor gets to me.

Walking in the rain

I’m usually fine walking in the rain when the temperature is nice. Nice for me starts at 23C / 73F. Lower than that, the wind will quickly chase me inside when I’m naked. Maybe I’m a wimp, maybe it’s my age starting to show but I’m for warm place. Otherwise I’d have been a polar bear or a penguin.

Different people, different thermometers

I love how there are so many people and so many opinions about when it’s good enough to be naked outside. I remember from many years ago (make that a lot of many) when I did a naked walk in a nearby German forest when the air temperature was about 5C / 41F, and that was fine. Because it was a walk in a forest. The dense trees kept the wind away and also, after walking for a while, my body was producing heat to ward off any chills. That was a cool walk and I would love to do it again.

Walk in Germany

I tried it, not that long ago, but the shivers got to me to the point where I decided it wasn’t worth trying to go on until I got warm. I could have persisted, because shivering is movement too and that can warm you, but that prospect just didn’t do it for me.

Next month I will be off to a warm island for a week. I’d be surprised if I can’t get some good walking done there!

Nude walk

Hi,

You may have understood that I like to be naked. I also like to take walks. What better way to enjoy both together than taking nude walks? Yesterday the weather was amazing (compared to the drizzle of today) and I grabbed the opportunity to go out. I have never walked there before so I had to be kind of cautious – don’t want to upset the textile side of life when I can avoid that…

Here’s are two videos I made while I was out and about. I hope they’re not too long and boring.

Running up that hill

I was out for a walk on my vacation, had dropped the textile rather quickly already and then I came upon this large area with a beautiful hill sloping up. I had to…

Running up and down a hill like this is exhilarating and feels like the ultimate freedom. If you can, try it. Even if you can’t run fast or at all, walk up and down.

Lots of hiking/walking today

Today was grand, great and impressive. And most of my out-time walking was textile-free too. I walked and hiked a little over 10km in 3 walks today, the last one a good 6km, and about 8 to 8.5 of them were clothes-free. 🙂

This would amount to 6.25miles in total, and 5 to 5.3 miles nude. The weather was gorgeous, people were scarce and a few I ‘suddenly’ met while nude were quite positive about it. (I try to cover up when I see people coming, but sometimes they are unfair and literally come around the corner and then I just keep going.)

today's nude walk

It was fabulous being out, had a great walk through a forest/heather area while going around a lake. I hope I can do something like that again in a few days. The weather also helped a lot, I hope we keep that for a while. Say until the week before Christmas? 🙂

A nude forest walk – the Netherlands

Okay, this wasn’t a hike. It was a 5km forest walk, but a very interesting one. The route:
malden walk

The numbers indicate the differences in speed per kilometre, nothing to worry about.

I started on the circle left of point 3, walked on to 1 and 2 and on until the end, turned back, walked back to 3 and on to the end, turned back and then went on to 4 and 5 (5 is beneath the left top circle – the end. The total was 5km, I walked 37 minutes. First off, it was colder than I thought. It was 6c/42F. This walk was near the town of Malden, in the area called Malden’s Vlak.

A nude evening walk

Well, that was wonderful. It had rained all day and finally the water stopped falling – around 8:30 in the evening. I was tired of being inside rooms and cars all day so I threw on something I could easily shed and drove off to a little natural area near here. It was about 11 centigrade, say 52 Fahrenheit.

I could park the car quite close to the walking area close to a house, popped over a path, walked off a little (don’t fancy upsetting the people here, I’m the one getting nude for me, not for them) and then dropped everything I had on. I had a bag with me for that. After all, it wasn’t really dark yet, so I felt I had to take some precautions. I walked along the path and saw rabbits hop all around, there were swans and geese, and also some wind and a few drops of rain. Ha, rain, another reason to go naked – nothing problematic gets wet. It was amazingly nice outside, even when the temperature could be considered low. Normally with 11c/52F you’d wear clothes, but I wasn’t really cold. I just enjoyed the walk, the area, the trees and the sounds. And of course the liberation from the clothing-maffia. The wind on my skin was purely pleasant. I reached the end of the trail too soon; I hit a road, so I doubled back.

As I came close to the car it had darkened so much that I just walked up to it and got in. Drove home in the nude, which was a first, and a great experience. After parking the car I did put on the training suit again, people in the street, street lights and such, and no need for trouble. All in all it was a great half hour and 2.8km/1.75mile walk. I’m going to do that more.

The route

Thank you, people at www.truenudists.com, for the great idea – I would never have thought of this myself.
