Write for a laugh

If you're ancient like I am or even older, you might recall a British show called 'Game for a laugh'. It ran in the 1980s.

I always enjoyed that show. No, this is not all about an ancient game show. I did write write up there for a reason. It's write for a laugh.

Because I am writing. And laughing. After experimenting with a few genres for naturist fiction it occurred to me that I have never done anything funny.

And that while my other me is writing a lot of funny stuff. So I got myself to think about something funny and by golly I think it worked. It started with some random notes in my trusty note taking program Obsidian (which I highly recommend) and by now it's grown into a serious set of notes with people, plans, a puzzle, a treasure and a few more bits and bobs.

Behold the bits and the bobs on your right, ladies and gentlemen. Because you have to start somewhere.

Word of warning: if you do not like comedy or laughter, the book is not for you. For you I advise some lighter reading like Karl Marx, War and Peace or Ulysses. 🤣

The story is progressing well. Very well. Darn bloody fast well too, if I may say so - and I may say so because this is my blog and I can say whatever I want here so I am telling you it's going well. We start off in England and we're at this moment of writing (chapter 18) on one of the Canary Islands. I've involved two brothers and an inheritance they never knew about, and that's as far as I'll go in telling you the plot. Because there is no plot, and this is as far as I got in the story. The last scene involves two naked people driving off in a 4X4 jeep thing, so yes, there is naturism involved too.

This story will either become one very very very long one or I'll chop it up in two volumes. Not sure yet. I'll have to see how it turns out but it had me laughing quite a lot and that's a good sign.
