The real human
When do we see the real human behind a person we meet? Is it through their clothes? Their job? Their income, or where they live?
I don't think so. Those things are indicators but not the real thing. Clothes are a matter of taste and necessity. Job and income have to do with the environment they grew up in and their level of luck for having had that opportunity.

Same thing would go for the other person, who'd feel at home in the fancy place. Get that person to 'your' normal space and they'd feel out of place. Their clothes, their appearance, it would all clash, like you would in their place, no matter how much either of you were to try.
And that's another thing. Try. As soon as you 'try' to fit in, you're off. You're not at the same level, but also you won't be the real you.
For this, naturism, nudity, is the best place (as it is for so many things). Without the outer evidence of who you are in general life, you both can be the real you. No frills, no expensive watches, no whatever-brand costumes, shirts, shoes.
Just a few naked people, being honest and their pure selves. That's where you are closest to being on the same level.
There will always be a difference in the way you employ language, the way you speak and think, but when all the barriers of outer pomp and show have been removed, I'm convinced it is easier to reaching a closer understanding and appreciation of each other as actual human beings.
