Home office, nude office

Nude at home

I’m sure that many of you (us!) have been working from home for the most part, the last year. How did you like that? Were you able to get into the swing of ‘home office’ easily? And did you have the opportunity to make it ‘nude office’ as well?

I’m a lucky one in that respect. I work in IT, specialising in Cloud technology. That means I can do about 98% of my work with a computer, from anywhere, as long as there is some internet connectivity. Just occasionally do I have to pack up and head out to a customer’s site. Some things require hand-on hands.

COVID-19 now seems to be mostly contained in many parts of the world. That means that offices are opening up again. I really wonder how you feel about that. Especially the ones who are required to head back into the office.

Traffic Jam
So happy together?

I heard from several areas, e.g. even Google and Apple, that their employees have asked if they can please keep working from home. I fully understand that. Maybe many of them are naturists who appreciate that they don’t need to get dressed to get to work. People who also don’t have to flood the highways and join the happy commuter’s traffic jams.

On the other hand I heard that people are glad to escape their homes again. Glad to drive their car, bus or train to and from work, as if that is a portal into the work-mode and back to home life.

Which tribe are you in?

  1. i’m in the “want to go back out” tribe. I am more fortunate than some having lots of land to explore and stretch my legs on compared to say people who live in apartments but bringing work/school/etc into the home sort of “invades” the home space a bit, at least for me. Having a clear line between the both is very important- the only instance where i am happy to blur lines is having dinner in my room with my tv, even though your bedroom should be free of tv’s and food and have its primary focus for sleepige… but yeah..

for some people its a joy, for others, its a curse. Maybe having a home office or something that is completely work/school etc related only can help with the separation.. but yeah..

    1. It all depends on the person, that’s clear. I know many people who can’t wait to go back to the office. They’ll accept traffic jams for that. Good for them when they can, and when you can do the normal bit again. I’m glad I don’t have to go out each day, although last week and next week make me go out. And that’s fine.

  2. I’m in the Work From Home (WFH) tribe and have no plans to leave! I have a full time position plus freelance if I want/need to work extra. Aside from drastically shrinking my carbon footprint I saved about $500/month in work-related expenses. More importantly I got rid of an average daily commute of 3.5 hours.

So no. I’ve no intention of ever commuting again. That said I’d not object to a 2-hour gig if it were on my way to one of my naked art, naked yoga, or naked massage classes if they ever restart.

    1. I’m entirely with you!
I saved 2 to 3 hours a day as well when WFH started, and I love it. The dress code is phenomenal, the coffee is much better (HAHA), and indeed, lots of costs suddenly fall away.
      What’s not to love?
