On the joy of being naked
Nudity is permitted beyond this point.

Nudist, naturist, what else?

"Oh no, here we go again. Not that question again, dude!"

Breathe easy, it's not a question. It's something I've come to realise.

Nudist and naturist

In a recent article I read, this came up again. And inevitably there was the question. "What do you think? Is there a difference between nudism and naturism?"

It got me thinking again. Don't worry, it didn't hurt. I have experience in thinking; my thinking muscles are trained.

After that thought I decided I am both a nudist and a naturist. Inside somewhere I'm the nudist when I'm nude, because there's no nature. A nudist, after all, is just a nude person. Outside I will be the naturist when I'm natural (= naked). That's also just a nude person, but with nature mixed in. I care about nature. Which can mean there are nudists in nature who aren't naturists, because they don't really care about nature. Nature just happens to be there when they're nude outside.

Does that make sense? To me it does.

I realise that my ideas about this will probably only be mine, which is fine. Note that they can be yours too, for a mere €5 (or equivalent currency), but that's beside the point.

This discussion, question, what you want to call it, will probably go on forever, and will get even worse once someone invents yet another phrase for it. Until then I'll stay a nudist naturist, depending on where I am.
