On the joy of being naked
Nudity is permitted beyond this point.

Giving it a name

The last few weeks I heard several podcasts in which the host spoke with people about how they discovered naturism. It's always fun to hear how people get to it. Some by friends, and surprisingly many discovered it the way that I found it too. By not knowing about it.

People who decide that not wearing clothes is a lot more comfortable than having them on. People who go about their business at home in the nude. That's how I did it too. Hot summer, no air conditioning (back then I hadn't even heard of that), so taking off my clothes was the only sensible thing to do.

And then, many years later, finding out there's a name for that, and you're not the only one feeling this way.

I wonder how many people discover the benefits and freedom of nudity this way, by simply doing it, unaware of how it's called or that it even has a name. I guess that lately, with the internet and all,

it's easier to find out about it (and also about what's not naturism although it's labelled that way 😬).

For me, I'm glad I found it the way I did. First just nude in my bedroom, reading books. Then out on the bicycle, to quiet places, enjoying being naked there and discovering that's even better than in a room, with the fresh air, the wind and the sun and all that comes with outside. Even going out to a bit of forest and wandering around there naked when it rains (in summer of course, I'm not that mad). Can there be anything more refreshing and exhilarating than walking around naked in the rain, not having to care about stuff getting wet?
