Comments

I've had several comments about the comments on the site.

More precisely: regarding the DISQUS plugin which is in use.

I looked at other options. There aren't many. One works well but doesn't warn me about comments, so I have to jump on a site to look. Meh.

One should work, to the tune of $99/year, but I don't get a registration confirmation link mail, so meh.

Then there's disqus, which is another kind of meh.

Now...

I can go around that. With some handy work on my own. This will involve some programming (no problem), and visitors will have to leave their email address if they want a reply to their comment. I can make this 'email free', and it will still work.

"Drawback": it will work via email to me. I get the mail, add the comment to the page, and update the page here. So I will be a manual process between commentator and comment. This, in turn, means it will take some time before comments appear, and email-free comments won't get a notification their comment is posted, but that's the same with any e-mail free response, regardless of the system.

So, whaddaya think? Go for the manual option? Yay or nay?
