To be offended by the visual appearance of another person is prejudice, akin to racism.
The right to exist, uncovered, should hold precedence over the right not to view this, for the objection is irrational.
-Terri Webb
This quote is worth posting and remembering. Too many people in our 'civilised' Western world carry their offended selves like badges of honour. Anything outside of their limited worldview is offensive, wrong, bad, and should be killed by fire, or worse: changed so it fits into their narrow perception of good and bad.
It's weird, and wonderous, to consider how many such people walk past us every day or week. Or month, in my case, because I really don't get out enough to run into many of them. And they all seem to exist inside a common, clothes-minded reality, where they, as a 'community', thrive and feel convinced of their rightness.
They will probably never know the pleasure of sunlight on their skin. The freedom of clothes, and the way a body can feel when it's exposed to air.
As stated in the quote, I wonder what gives those people their conviction that only they are right? Their views? The fact there are so many of them?
Sometimes the majority just means all the fools are on the same side.
Yes, it was president John F Kennedy who said that (click the link for the source, and yes, I'm full of quotes today).
And, to me, this is the truth. All the fools ARE on the same side. The more reason for us to stick to our proverbial naked guns, and Never give up, never surrender.
(I advise you to watch this film if you like Scifi and laughing. Even if you've seen it before. "Galaxy Quest". Long ago, in a cinema near you.)
Of course, it's not always easy to stand up to the ignorant and the clothes-minded, but taking every safe opportunity there is, can make a difference. Note the 'safe' here. It's stupid to put anyone in danger over what we think is normal and okay. When you're in a legitimate nude place and 'they' don't want to see you or other naturists, let them look elsewhere.
Have a good new and nude year, everyone.
