Hypocrisy of the dressed

Most people aren’t against nudity.

beachv70086That may be a bold statement but when you look at the profits that the porn industry makes – and porn happens mostly undressed, then this should be a fact.

For instance look at Forbes: “Take for instance the New York Times Magazine: It ran a cover story on May 18 called “Naked Capitalists: There’s No Business Like Porn Business.” Its thesis: Pornography is big business–with $10 billion to $14 billion in annual sales. The author, Frank Rich Frank Rich , suggests that pornography is bigger than any of the major league sports, perhaps bigger than Hollywood. Porn is “no longer a sideshow to the mainstream…it is the mainstream,” he says.”

$10 billion worth of naked isn’t just any old shoe. It means that many people like naked people. Why then is there this big issue then with us naked people being out and about? Because we are not enticing. We’re not sensual, erotic, nor do we share any other trait that the porn industry makes its money from. We’re just naked people without anything special. There’s no money to be made of us (which is good) but the way we behave we’re not exciting.

I think that most people have been programmed to dislike nudists and nudity. They have been programmed in many other ways too (we all are), all thanks to commercialism and the wicked ways of culture and religion. Let’s see if there is a way to turn the tide. To deprogram people and make nudity something accepted – maybe even respected.

  1. Paul,

I agree with your post today. Pornography depicts the act of sex without love, really. Nudism captures and enriches all the sensations the body can have from wind and sun and water. Nudism gives pleasure without having to be sexual. Humans, however, are sexual beings and that is good! How would we all be living today if it were not for sex? God gave males and females the urge (or drive) to be sexual together and he blessed us as sexual beings by giving us libidos that make life worth living and there are offspring to prove that libido is good for both sexes. It is how we satisfy that sexual drive that makes courtship and marriage what it should be. Pornography is scripted lovemaking when there is really no “real love” involved between the male and female. I watch porn occasionally but I come away disappointed because I can tell that it is a mechanical act that really does not foster the “right” kind of love at all! You may not agree with my thoughts but I wanted to express my thoughts and perspective openly.

  2. In my country you can open a porn shop but you can’t have a secluded beach for nudists. Dressing seductively, getting drunk and ending half naked in the street on a night out is OK, but swimming naked is not. Go figure!

    1. Vince, I liked what you had to say in your post! It seems odd that you can open a porn shop and sell pornographic literature and videos and items but you can’t establish a secluded nude beach legally. That just makes no sense at all! You can go out, party, get drunk and half naked in the streets and that is normal; but to be completely nude in public enjoying the sun and wind and water is something that is not permitted in your country. That is VERY disturbing. Here in USA we do have places both legal and not legal where you can go to be nude in public. There are nudist resorts in most states in the USA and there are also nude beaches as well. Some beaches are legally designated as nude beaches with signage posted to that effect while other beaches that have secluded areas that are not marked as legal nude beaches also exist. I hope eventually, in your country, that legal nude beaches will be designated so you can enjoy being nude in sun and air and water without being harassed or cited or jailed.

  3. Well people that is just the tip. No punt intended!
Would it not be nice to see everyone in there birthday outfit. The thing is that most people don’t know that nudity is natural. As a matter of fact, most people are nudists/ naturists, just closet nudists/ naturists. Many of which do practice (now and again) a form or portion of nudity in the privacy of there own home.
Some however, do not and that is because they have been programmed to be un-desirable or even been told they are ugly.
Let me be clear….there is no such thing as undesirable or ugly. These words can not and do not exist, at least not when describing the form of man and woman.
Every person in this earthly realm is not here for the enjoyment of another but, every person in this earthly realm is here to enjoy life! The acceptance of that can change your way of thinking if you try.
In that if you think you are more deserving than the one you judge, look behind you and all around you and know that you are being judged everyday just on your appearance. Not your thoughts, not your wants, not your needs, not your feelings, not your status just your appearance to someone else you do not know.
Many of those judgements are never heard, seen, felt or even thought of by you.
So too those who think you are more than the next….you may feel less like judging the next time you see anyone naked or clothed, rich or poor, beautiful or not they deserve a chance to inspire you, enlighten you or just simply share time with you. How much time is not as important as how much it will add to your life.
“May all your days be filled with the people that show you respect and may you be respectful to those that fill your life!”
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Life!

    1. Christopher, I very much support and like your comment here. I always accept those around me as they are. They may be rich or poor, handicapped or whole, black, white or other skin tone. God created us all and affirmed his creation by giving each of us life. What we do with our lives is up to each of us. I have chosen to live the remainder of my life as a nudist. I am not condemned in my spirit because I am comfortable and at one with God and those around about me. I seek to find those of like mind and to make them part of my life. I hope they choose to make me part of theirs because they accept me as I am – naked. Thank you, Christopher, for sharing yourself with me because my life is better now because of you!
