Naked Crow – the book

I’m happy to say that Naked Crow is now also available on Amazon.com, and most of the other countries’ shops already have it as well.

This made me grin (I know, I am easily amused):

It’s even in Japan.

Will your new year be a nude year?

Good morning.

I wish everyone the best for the new year. That’s a given but never should be left unsaid.

How do you see your new year? If you’re a not nudist or naturist already, will you consider it? I know it’s against the ideas of relaxation and even those of ‘normality’ of many people, but what is normal? When cars were invented not many people thought they’d be safe to use, that there was no better means of transport than a horse-drawn cart. And look at the world now: hundreds, thousands, millions of cars. Maybe you think that naturism is a fad from the last few years: it isn’t. According to Wikilpedia:

The earliest known naturist club in the “western” sense of the word was established in British India in 1891. The ‘Fellowship of the Naked Trust’ was founded by Charles Edward Gordon Crawford.

Even older references can be found on this website:

In ancient Greece in the eighth century BC, the sports were practiced by stripped men, and during the Roman Empire, from centuries II to IV, everyone, without distinction of sex or social class, used to bath nude in public baths.

That’s much longer ago than the invention of cars, and yet cars are accepted and the naked body, with whom everyone is born, still isn’t. Or rather: isn’t any more. It’s really very strange.

Happy new year!

May 2014 bring you lots of naked weather!

Thank you to all the visitors to my site, and all the positive comments about it. You make me keep it going.

Merry Christmas!

Enjoy your holidays, nude friends all over the world!

Naked Crow – a follow-up

In a previous post I mentioned that I had written a book to put naturism in a more positive light for the rest of the world. Too many people still think that it’s wrong if you want to go around in the nude, instead of being ‘decently dressed.

It’s still not completely done. Editing takes a while, as does implementing some feedback from test-readers which requires a number of changes here and there, but all in all I am very pleased with the progress I’m making with the book.

My hope is that I have wrapped everything up around February and that I can publish it as an e-book by then.

I am not certain about making it a paper copy as well, as that involves all kinds of other technical aspects, but we’ll see how things work out. I’m already looking at possibilities.

Book review – Naturist, Red in Tooth and Claw

This is a book review of Naturist, Red in Tooth and Claw by Stuart Pitsligo

I bought this book from Smashwords as it deals with naturism and the short description looked interesting.

Information from Smashwords: Price: $1.54.
Approx. 51,070 words.
Language: English.
Published on December 31, 2011.
Category: Fiction.

The good things: The book tells about horrible murders taking place in the Scottish Highlands. A group of friends get together and discover a shocking truth. The story also has a serious approach to naturism (nudism if you like), and how a man learns to appreciate the lifestyle.

The not so good things: The book’s story and pace is very good, but it looks as if Mr. Pitsligo wrote it and then immediately published it. Some proofreading and editing would do this book a lot of good.

Go Topless day

Via GVA.BE, a Belgian newspaper:belgische vrouwen betogen mee op go topless day

Sunday August 25th it was the sixth ‘Go Topless Day’. On that day women all over the world – with the help of some men – protest for the right to go topless in public:

In our country there is no manifestation, but a delegation of Belgian women will take part in the one in Amsterdam.

“I want to make people aware that there still are different rules for men and women,” says participant Natalie Drochmans (39) from Leuven. “Men can walk around with a nude upper body, while often they have larger breasts than many women. That’s insane.”

Natalie and her fellow protesters demand to walk the streets bare-chested, but isn’t that forbidden? “Exhibitionism and public indecency are forbidden by law, but what that encompasses is hard to define,” explains professor Gunther Maes from the University in Hasselt. “It’s a difficult balance that is always depending on current social views. And today those are different from 100 years ago,” says the law professor. “Public indecency also depends on the context. When a woman goes bare-chested by a kindgarten is different from when she’s enjoying the sunshine in a remote park. Men and women are equal for the law, but when a man goes through town bare-chested, people might find that unsuitable, but that’s all. When a woman does that, it will probably have consequences.”

Barechested life for everyone

Lately there’s been a lot of commotion about women’s breasts in the United States.

The New York Times published about orders to the police that they should not go after women who bare their breasts. After that, PolicyMic posted about this as well:

topless, women, in, public, not, breaking, the, law,, says, nypd,
Topless Women in Public Not Breaking the Law Says NYPD

Ladies of New York , you are free to walk bare-breasted through the city! New York City’s 34,000 police officers have been instructed that, should they encounter a woman in public who is shirtless but obeying the law, they should not arrest her. This is a good step towards gender parity in public spaces.

This decision means that breast exposure is not considered public lewdness, indecent exposure, or disorderly conduct. It also notes that, should a crowd form around a topless woman, the officer should instruct the crowd to disperse and then respond appropriately if it does not. Relative coverage is no longer a factor.

It keeps surprising me that any country that wants to be seen as liberal is still making such a fuss about public nudity. After all, it’s not just the US of A, but just about every country in the world that goes against such things. And why? Because there’s something visible on a woman that’s just not so pronounced on a man.

chest

When seen on the inside, everyone looks about the same in the chest area. We have to, we’re all human!

breast

It’s just the added value of the female breast that makes things bad?

(If you have to think about the added value then you have no idea how many babies are raised.)

I hope that soon the day will be there that everyone can walk around the way they like and that humanity as a whole, advanced and intelligent as it now is, has gained some proper insight on personal freedom, a value that seems in decline since quite a while.

Be happy, be nude when you like, be healthy.
